Cloud computing can be divided into three layers. The infrastructure of one layer mainly includes network system (network), storage (storage), servers (servers), and virtualization technology (virtualization). IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) refers to the provision of IT infrastructure as a service through the network. In this service model, users do not need to build a data center by themselves, but use infrastructure services, including servers, storage, and networks, by renting them. In terms of usage model, IaaS is similar to traditional hosting, but IaaS has strong advantages in terms of service flexibility, scalability, and cost.

IaaS is the simplest cloud computing delivery model. It delivers computing resources in the form of virtualized operating systems, workload management software, hardware, network, and storage services. It can also include the delivery of operating systems and virtualization technologies to management resources. IaaS can provide computing power and storage services on demand. Instead of purchasing and installing the required resources in a traditional data center, it is necessary to lease these required resources according to company needs. This rental model can be deployed behind the company’s firewall or through a third-party service provider. Saving maintenance costs and office space, the company can use these hardware to run its applications at any time. Currently well-known IaaS companies include Amazon, Bluelock, CSC, GoGrid, IBM, etc.

PaaS is the abbreviation of (Platform as a Service), which refers to platform as a service. Taking the server platform as a service-providing business model, the service provided by the program through the network is called SaaS (Software as a Service), and the corresponding server platform or development environment in the cloud computing era is provided as a service to become PaaS ( Platform as a Service).

PaaS can integrate various existing business capabilities, which can be categorized into application servers, business capability access, business engines, and business open platforms. The basic service capabilities can be measured based on business capability needs, and the hardware can be invoked through APIs provided by IaaS Resources, provide business dispatch center services upwards, monitor various resources of the platform in real time, and open these resources to SaaS users through APIs. PaaS mainly has the following three characteristics:

(1) Platform as a service: The most fundamental difference between the services provided by PaaS and other services is that PaaS provides a basic platform, not an application.

(2) Platforms and services: The services that PaaS operators need to provide are not only pure basic platforms, but also include technical support services for the platform, and even application system development and optimization services for the platform.

(3) Platform-level services: PaaS operators provide external services that are different from other services. Behind this service is a strong and stable basic operating platform and a professional technical support team.

SaaS is the abbreviated name of Software-as-a-Service, meaning software as a service, that is, providing software services through the network. SaaS platform providers deploy application software on their own servers. Customers can order the application software services they need from the Internet based on the actual needs of their work, and pay the vendors according to the number of services ordered and the length of time.
